Doubt

It doesn't seem like a giant stretch to admit that I left the theater filled with doubt after seeing this film. Unlike my parents who raved about the religious and emotional conversation topics that were inspired by the film, I only felt irritation at the end. Perhaps that is the definition of skillful acting?

I was so annoyed by Amy Adams' constant quivering voice and tearful wonderings that it nearly ruined the entire movie for me. PSH was tolerable - perhaps only because he's from Rochester. Meryl Streep was a likeable character because she portrayed the most unlikable character of them all. Her sadistic treatment of the students at her school was fun to watch and epitomized the stereotypical horror stories I have heard from all of my friends who attended Catholic school. Nothing brings people together like shared misery and parochial students love nothing more than to chatter on endlessly about their experiences.

Call me lazy but it was even more annoying that there was no resolution to the story. Meryl got her way but was he guilty or not??
