Coraline

I'm not really into scary movies and it kind of weirds me out when a movie for children turns out to be creepy. I didn't like the doll-head on the spider body from Toy Story. I didn't like Big Baby from Toy Story 3. So I should have known that I wouldn't really love Coraline. The whole "Just take this needle and sew these buttons on your eyes" bit is what did it for me.

The one part that actually made the movie worthwhile for me was when Coraline arrives in her new perfect home in the alternate dimension. All of her stuffed animals come to life and one funny squid (or octopus?) is especially excited to see Coraline. When he sees her, he says enthusiastically - "I wanna hug your face!"

I loved that line so much, I wanted to hug ANYONE'S face at that moment!
